Founder of Rockin’chair in 1980, a legendary Country Rock band (2 CD’s), Claude LANGLOIS, French artist born in the West of Paris, was one of the first guitar players to be acquainted with Pedal Steel Guitar, which is a modern version of the Hawaïan guitar and king instrument in the US Country music.
He is also excellent at playing National Steel (a resophonic guitar) and Weissenborn (Hawaï guitar made of wood with was popularized by Ben Harper), for which he received twice the Blues Award (in 1999 and 2000) at the New Morning in Paris.
He has been playing with Patrick Verbeke for more than 15 years in the famous « TRIO » band (along with Pascal Mikaelian) and the Magic blues Band quintet.
With Pascal Mikaelian, since 1998, he has both recorded disks and been on stage, where they perform a very torrid Blues duo : the Duo (CD « the first » at BlueStak/Night Day).
During his 2nd visit in the Hawaï Islands, he met Ken Emerson for the first time (one of the best new generation Steel Guitar players) with whom he shared a show in Paris in Spring 2003. At the same time, he recorded the Duo’s second CD with Pascal Mikaelian.
Also in 2003 he participated in the great French artist Paul Personne’s 2 new CD’s ("Demain il f’ra beau" & "coup de Blues" ), produced by Jay Newland (Nora Jones).
Claude Langlois will be performing at the very famous French Olympia (in Paris) in November 2003, and after that, again in Hawaï for shows with Ken Emerson in December, and in 2004 he will be back on stage with Paul Personne, the Duo, and Patrick Verbeke as usual.
